Description

SpaPure EZ Enzyme 1 Pint Spa Enzyme Waterline and Scum Treatment

Digests the oils instead of chasing the scum ring.

SpaPure EZ Enzyme (SKU PST-SPA4599CS40P, MPN C004599-CS40P), also sold as Scum Away, is a 1 pint super concentrated enzyme treatment that biodegrades the organic waste loading up your spa water. Body oils, lotions, sweat and soap residue are what actually create waterline rings, cloudy water and a filter that clogs faster than it should. Enzymes break those compounds down rather than masking them, so the problem leaves the water instead of moving to the filter. The formula is specifically built to work better in hot water, is non foaming, and drops into any sanitizing or oxidizing program. Because it reduces the load everything else has to fight, most owners find they add less of their other chemicals too.

Good to Know

How much EZ Enzyme do I add, and when?

Start with 1 oz per 100 gallons on a fresh fill, then hold it with 1 to 2 oz per 500 gallons weekly. Add it with the spa circulating on its lowest setting so the enzymes distribute without being churned. One timing rule matters: do not superchlorinate for 24 hours after dosing. A heavy chlorine hit will burn up the enzymes before they finish digesting the oils, and you will have paid for both products to cancel each other out.

Will this stop my waterline ring?

That is exactly what it targets. The ring is body oil and lotion residue collecting at the surface, so an enzyme that digests those compounds both removes an existing ring and keeps a new one from forming. The same action reduces how fast the cartridge loads with oil, which stretches the interval between filter cleanings. If the tub is also foaming, the enzyme addresses the cause while SpaPure Defoamer knocks the foam down on the spot.

How does this compare to EZ Enzyme plus PhosAway?

Same enzyme base, one extra job. This bottle is the straight enzyme treatment for oils and organic waste. SpaPure EZ Enzyme plus PhosAway adds phosphate removal on top. Phosphates feed algae and, more relevant in a spa, high levels keep a salt cell from working efficiently. If you run a salt system or you have tested high for phosphates, take the combined product. Otherwise this one covers the oils at a lower cost per bottle.
