SpaPure Defoamer (SKU PST-SPA3292CS40P, MPN C003292-CS40P) is a 1 pint (16 fl oz) concentrated foam dispersant that collapses the suds sitting on top of your spa water in seconds. You add a small amount, 1/2 to 1 ounce, straight into the foam and the head breaks down on contact instead of climbing over the shell every time the jets run. The formula contains no oils and will not clog your filter, which is the difference between this and the cheap defoamers that leave a film on the cartridge and shorten its life. It is compatible with all sanitizers and oxidizer systems, so it drops into a chlorine, bromine, biguanide, or mineral program without changing anything else you run.

How much do I add, and can I get in the spa afterward?
Add 1/2 to 1 ounce directly to the foaming areas of the water, not to the skimmer or a feeder. Start at the low end, since this is a concentrate and more product does not knock the foam down any faster. The foam collapses within seconds and you can use the spa right away. Repeat as needed, but if you are reaching for the bottle every single soak, the water itself is telling you it needs attention.
Why does my spa foam in the first place, and will this stop it coming back?
Foam is almost always a symptom, not the problem. Body oils, lotions, hair products, and the laundry detergent still sitting in swimsuits build up in the water and give the air from your jets something to hold onto. A defoamer treats the symptom fast, which is exactly what you want when guests are waiting, but it does not remove what is causing it. To attack the cause, run an enzyme product such as SpaPure EZ Enzyme to digest the oils and organics, keep your filter clean, and rinse suits in plain water instead of washing them with detergent. Chronic foam on old water usually means it is time to drain and refill.
Will it hurt my filter or interfere with my sanitizer?
No on both counts. It is an oil free formula that will not clog filters, so it will not blind off a cartridge the way oil-based defoamers can, and it is compatible with all sanitizers and oxidizer systems including chlorine, bromine, and mineral setups. Store it closed in a cool, dry place away from children and pets, and never mix it with other spa chemicals in the same bottle or pail.
