SpaPure Brom Bank 1 Pint Liquid Sodium Bromide Reserve Builder for Spas and Hot Tubs
Build the bromide bank before you brominate.
SpaPure Brom Bank (SKU PST-SPA3402CS40P, MPN C003402-CS40P) is a 1 pint bottle of liquid bromide salts that creates a bromide reserve in your spa the moment you pour it in. Bromine is very slow to build that reserve on its own, so a freshly filled bromine spa spends its first days waiting instead of working: Brom Bank eliminates that down time. It is not a disinfectant or a sanitizer by itself. The bromide stays in the water as a stable bank, and your brominating tabs and shock are what convert it into active sanitizer, so dose 2 ounces per 100 gallons with the water circulating or as the spa is being filled, then hold the tabs at 2 to 4 ppm bromine from there.

Does Brom Bank sanitize the spa by itself?
No, and that is the most important thing to understand about it. Brom Bank is not a disinfectant or sanitizer. What it does is put bromide into the water as a reserve, or bank, that sits there stable and inactive until an oxidizer converts it into the active sanitizing form. Your SpaPure Brominating Tabs and your shock do that conversion. Skip the bank and the tabs have to build the reserve from nothing, which is exactly the slow start this product exists to remove.
How much do I add, and how far does a pint go?
Add 2 ounces for every 100 gallons of water. Pour it in while the spa is circulating, or add it as the spa is being filled, so it disperses through the whole body of water instead of sitting in one spot. A 400 gallon spa takes 8 ounces, which is half the bottle, and the full pint treats 800 gallons at label rate. From there, put brominating tabs in a floater or dispenser and adjust the feed to hold 2 to 4 ppm of bromine.
Do I have to re-dose this every week?
Usually not. Brom Bank is often a single time application to the spa, because bromide is not consumed the way sanitizer is: it cycles between the active and reserve forms as you shock. You rebuild the bank when the water leaves, so dose again after you drain and refill, and top up after a heavy splash out or a partial water replacement. If you would rather dose by the pouch than by the bottle, the SpaPure Sodium Bromide 2 oz dry equivalent covers the same job.
