AAPCK1057 Pump Repair Kit -- Sta-Rite P2R / P2RA / Dura-Glas / Max-E-Glas
OEM-equivalent service kit. Mechanical shaft seal, O-rings, and gaskets for a single rebuild.
The APC APCK1057 (legacy P/N APCKIT6) is the standard service kit for Sta-Rite's P2R and P2RA wet-end pumps, including Dura-Glas and Max-E-Glas models that share the same seal plate. Each kit covers a complete teardown and rebuild of one pump: mechanical shaft seal, lid O-ring, diffuser gasket, and housing O-ring.

How do I know if I need APCK1057 or the 1998-and-present Dura-Glas kit (APCK1051A)?
Check your pump's seal plate. The P2R / P2RA / pre-1998 Dura-Glas / Max-E-Glas wet-ends share a single seal plate design and take this kit. Sta-Rite redesigned the Dura-Glas / Maxi-Glas seal plate in 1998; later units take APCK1051 (or APCK1051A with the Premium Seal upgrade). If you cannot read the date code, count the bolts on the seal plate and compare against an OEM exploded diagram before ordering.
Is there a Premium Seal or Ozone-Resistant Seal upgrade for this kit?
Not for the P2R / P2RA family at the moment. The Premium Seal upgrade and the 3865 / 3868 ozone-resistant seal upgrades are stocked for the higher-volume pump lines (Hayward Super Pump, Pentair WhisperFlo and Challenger, Sta-Rite Dura-Glas 1998-and-present, Jandy Stealth, Hayward Max-Flo). For P2R / P2RA in an ozone application, lubricate the standard seal with pool-grade silicone and plan on a shorter service interval.
Can I install this myself?
Yes if you are comfortable splitting the wet-end from the motor. Disconnect power at the breaker, remove the strainer pot and diffuser, slide the motor and seal plate off the volute studs, pull the impeller, replace every part in the kit, lubricate all O-rings with pool-grade silicone, and torque the volute bolts in a star pattern across three or four passes. If you have not done a shaft seal before, watch a Sta-Rite Dura-Glas rebuild video before starting.
